Chaves is an NPC in Dragon's Dogma.
Description[]
- "A citizen of Cassardis. His joy in life is downing a drink or ten every night at his favorite bar."
Chaves is one of the citizens injured by the Dragon attack, and is hospitalised in Chief Adaro's House along with Estevon and the Arisen as the beginning of the game.
After recovering Chaves spends much of his time at Inez's Alehouse, especially at night.

Notes[]
- Both Chaves and Estevon dissapear from Cassardis on starting Upon a Pawn - they reappear in the village after Off With Its Head.
- Since Chaves disappears until the Arisen arrives in Gran Soren whilst his escort quest disappears at the same point to get Chaves' escort quest one needs to either :
- Wait till New Game Plus having increased his affinity previously.
- Or, talk with Chaves after Newly Arisen but before attempting to leave Cassardis - if nothing can be gifted to him, talking to him multiple (up to 20 times) should work.
Trivia[]
- His line "the horror... the horror of it...." may be a reference to Joseph Conrad's 1902 novella, Heart of Darkness.
