Stat growth in Dragon's Dogma is influenced by Vocation. Upon leveling up, each stat will gain an increase in a pattern determined by the current Vocation of the character. The stat's increase vary for each vocation in a way that mostly benefits their play style and continued use. It is worth noting that the offensive and defensive potential of each Vocation is not just reliant on stats, as the Armor, Weapons and Skills available differ for each Vocation.

Additionally, there is a stat calculator available that can be used to help plan character growth.

Basic VocationsEdit

FighterEdit

The Fighter provides great Defensive stats at the expense of Magick. It also sports good Offensive stats early on.

StriderEdit

The Strider provides a consistent balance of stats across the board, and boasts above-average stamina.

MageEdit

The mage provides good Magick offense and defense, at the expense of Physical Offense and Defense. It has a little more stamina than Fighter, but less HP.

Advanced VocationsEdit

Advanced Vocations are only available once the character reaches Level 10.

WarriorEdit

The Warrior is more offensively orientated than the Fighter, with a bit less stamina but a bit more HP.

Note: The Strategy guide stat gain for warrior Lv 100+ is incorrect. The hp gain lv 100+ is 5 hp not 15 hp. This may be a bug but as of July 17, 2012 this has not been changed.


RangerEdit

The Ranger foregoes the Strider's balance for a bit more Stamina and Attack and less magick-based stats.

SorcererEdit

The Sorcerer is much like the mage, but with greater Magick Attack.

Hybrid VocationsEdit

Hybrid Vocations are only available once the character reaches Level 10. They are exclusive Vocations to the Arisen.

Note that, these hybrid vocations not always been restricted to Arisen only. They also seen used by Bandits or Troops sometimes. Example; Magick Archer was used by Bandits.

To be correct, these hybird vocations are actually exclusive to "Humans" since Arisen and otthers are all Humans, not like Pawns.

Mystic KnightEdit

The Mystic Knight has mostly balanced stats, but with increased HP and a bit less Stamina.

The Assassin sacrifices low Physical and Magick defense for high Attack and Stamina.

Magick ArcherEdit

The Magick Archer is mostly balanced, with great Magick Defense but lacking physical stats.
