Recently, we have been including a Ranger equipped with Great Gamble in the party combatting the Ur-Dragon. The Ranger exhausts all stamina when firing Great Gamble and must replenish.  The Ranger is provided only with group stamina curatives.  Thus, the Ranger replenishes the stamina of each member of the party.

In this video, a Fighter accompanies a Magick Archer and two Striders.  The Fighter is equipped with Dragon's Maw that serves a similar purpose to the Ranger in the strategy described above.  The use of Dragon's Maw rapidly depletes stamina compelling the Fighter to replenish.  Since the only stamina curatives are group curatives, the Fighter restores the stamina of all party members.

The result in both of these strategies is that t…

Previously, I'd used the Maker's Finger at the beginning of a fight with the Ur-Dragon by shooting him in the chest.  However, since I like to grapple the Dragon on the chest, I thought I'd go for the more difficult head shot.  It took a few seconds to get in position but the shot connected and the Ur-Dragon kissed the ground.  After that, it was a question of grappling him and keeping him on the defensive.

The party is buffed up before the fight.  During the fight, however; the menu is never opened.  The Ranger makes liberal use of Mushroom Potages to replenish stamina following Great Gamble shots.  The Mushroom Potages replenish the stamina of the entire party.  This enables the Arisen to maintain a constant barrage of 100 Kisses against …

    Farming Death

    May 2, 2015 by Allgorhythm

Shortly after I first entered BBI, I found that Death was constantly in the Bloodless Stockade.  Searching for a safe spot, I discovered that the back corners of the lower part of a chamber could not be reached by Death's Scythe.  Later, I found out that the party could attack from the safe spot.  Initially, I would wait till Death went into the Chamber and then attack with Magick Archer's Ricochet Hunters.  The logical next step was to attack Death through the grate.  It turned out this was extremely effective.  Death could be caught unawares and was more vulnerable while not alert.

Later, I changed the difficulty from Normal to Hard and found out that the technique worked just as well.  The above video is Pre-Daimon, New Game Plus on Hard…

SO. I haven't been around much, and honestly haven't played DD since I got my PS4. However I've recently got the urge to dust off my PS3 and resume my quest in Gransys. I might have mentioned elsewhere, but my original PS3 died, and with it I lost most of all of the Save Data for all of my PS3 games (save a back up for Dark Souls). On my original save file I had a pair of Ur Dragon masks, namely the Siegfried and Apollo Masks. Since farming for them again is a daunting task that could consume a hellish amount of time, I was wondering if there would be a person on the wiki kind enough to gift those masks to me, if they have spares.

If anyone is willing my PSN is Evnyofdeath. Though, it will likely have to wait until Saturday or Sunday, as m…

I am in desperate need of my fellow Arisens far and wide.

I am severely torn between using the atrocious hellfire helm on my fighter pawn or some type of gold rarefied headpiece and or circlet. It would be a significant sacrifice of defensive and debilitation boots but perhaps a major win in the looks and badassery department. In your experience do you roll with helmeted pawns?

Do other players hire your pawn more for their dashing good looks or top rate elemental and possesion resistances. Please any insight to still my troubled mind would be appreciated.

So my friend recently got into playing this game again, and re-made his save as he had no idea where he left off. When he finally got the ability to summon other Pawns, mine didn't appear on his friend list. so we inputted my PSN manually and summoned it to the rift, but it shows the Pawn as costing an exuberant amount of Rift Crystals, rather than free as they should be. he even tried to "add to friend's list" but got a notice saying I was already on his friend's list. so why isn't my Pawn free for him?

    Easy Boss Kills

    January 18, 2015 by Scotsman 50

I found out a great way to kill bosses with taking any damage. If you can get above the bosses on a rock higher then they are they will just stay at the front of the rock and you can just wail away at them until they are dead. I used this method on the final boss Death at Bitterback Isle by going down to the bottom and when Death appeared I ran back up to the ledge above him and just fired missles at him for 20 minutes until he was dead. The only set back is that one might get carpal tunnel syndrome from using your thumb so much. My character is just a level 20 sorceror at the time. No one hit kills for me or my pawns who where up on the ledge with me wailing away. I hope that the creators of this game do not fix that glitch I found. Even …

Are you looking forward to The Witcher 3? I certainly am, but not so much that I wanted to extend that feeling of anticipation.

Yes, CD Projekt's RPG sequel has been delayed. Again. It's being pushed back a further three months, with the new release date set for May 19, 2015.

According to an open letter published by The Board of CD PROJEKT SA, the delay is due to the "sheer size and complexity" of the game. "Now, nearing the end of our work," they write, "we see many details that need to be corrected. When we release the most important game in our studio’s history, we must be absolutely sure that we did everything we could to limit any bugs to a level that will allow you to enjoy the game thoroughly."

You know what? Yes, I'm a little disappoi…

It's hard being a protagonist. You make countless sacrifices, battle through countless levels, die countless deaths, and for all your hard work, you're still never going to be as cool as the villain. It's surprising how few goody-two-shoes ever make the transition to bad guy status and take advantage of its perks: cooler costume, army of minions, a chill flying death fortress to hang out in while those sucker heroes come to you.

But when they do, it's always a big event. We're talking about genuine good guys (playable protagonists) that somehow end up on the opposing side (antagonists that need to be taken down). Here's our list of the 8 greatest heroes-turned-villains in videogame history.

I have to admit that I was a little disappointed that the next game to follow the Telltale’s adventure formula was going to be based on the Borderlands licence. I’m not exactly a fan of those games. Well, it’s deeper than simply not liking them. I appreciate the series’ dumb characters and post-apocalyptic Pandora setting with its disturbing settlers, but the gameplay always grew tired on me to the point I never managed to get to end of the original Borderlandsor its sequel. My feelings on this was made clearer when playing through the first episode ofTales from the Borderlands, as I enjoyed every minute of this two hour adventure, glued from beginning to end, thanks to its brilliant characters, plot and gameplay done in the typical Tellta…

    Some crazy ideas

    November 14, 2014 by Spinfx

So a comment by Zenotraxium on the Sorcerer article reminded me we don't have a summoner class. Imagine the over-the-top shenanigans a DD-style summoner could get up to.

Maybe something out of left field, like summoning a harpy which carries you so you can cast in midair, safely away from ground combat.

A pillar of rock rises under your feet, and brine-infested water floods the surrounding area for a minute. Okay that's not really a summoning but maybe we can put a face to the brine. Let's pray it doesn't look like Nicolas Cage.

A legion of ghostly soldiers rises up from the ground and swarms your target.

A cloud of bats envelop the target, pulls it down, and drains the life out of it.

A portal to The Rift opens, disgorging a bunch of extra paw…

Warrior Priest: A mix of Fighter and Sorcerer. Fights with a half spear, half stave.

Battle Mage: A mix of Fighter and Mage. Fights with weaponry created via magick.

The Cutthroat: A strict dagger class that can utilize all dagger-based skills. (Up to 6 skills can be equipped)

The Swordmaster: a strict sword class which can utilize not only all sword skills but can also wield two sword-based weapons at once. If one sword is equipped, then 6 skills for that sword can be set.

Amongst the Magick Archers, Mystic Knights and Assassins out there, how many of you do use more than 2 weapons?

I mean how many of you swap from mace to staff and so on in the middle of a fight ?

And what kind of weapons do you prefer ? Magickal or Pure strength ? Rusted ?

Personaly, as a MA, I seldom deviate from good old 'daggers and magick bow'.

I prefer Framae Blades and Blackwing Bow so I can deal both heavy magick and physical damage as needed.

When I equip Magick Rebalancer, I keep a Dominion Claw for fun otherwise I'll keep a Rusted Staff as extra weapon to cripple enemies with High Perdition but I don't do either that often.

    Hi everybody,

By popular demand, we go on with our trend on 100% subjective and silly blog post...

What are your 5 favorite armors from a visual point of view ? Does it match what you find to be the best gears ?

And, if relevant, tell us if your Arisen is male or female (Mine is Female).

    I'll go first with :

    1.   Ancient Robe
    2.   Vagabond Armor
    3.   Trophy Jacket
    4.   Frame Plate
    5.   Chestguard

Special mention for the two last weak armors which I like a lot for unknown reason.

I find the Ancient robe and Trophy Jacket very powerful (in a not completely OP kind of way)

I think this time the anwsers will vary a lot depending on your Arsien gender. ^ ^

Just a question, when it comes to the 3rd Star in GRansys knowledge, how did you attain it? I explored everywhere in Gransys and have not gotten the third one. The Fetor was found by accident, and mostly, everywhere else is explored. My alternate pawn came back with 2 stars after a rent and then by exploring the southern shores near Maul, she 'learned of the area'. It was nearing dawn when she said that and I just stared.

She gained her third with me but I'm not een sure how, aside from rushing to the end of the beach and uncovering what was at the time/on that account, unexplored land.

Does...that mean you'd need to have two stars, have your pawn rented out and then return and explore unexplored land within roughly an hour to gain the third…

Playing game and thinking (dangerous I know). Would it not have been great to do BBI with three friends/other gamers . It would bring a whole new outlook on the game. small enemies could drop rc and bosses four materials one for each player. After defeating Daimon you would have three doors easy, normal, and hard. Easy goes back to surface. Normal takes you to an arena where you fight one of each foe at the same time, ie goblin through to cursed dragon. so you would face wrym, dragon, drake, wyvern plus ogre ,elder ogre gorecyclops chimera etc. Hard would be the same but with death or the ur dragon as well. on defeating all a set of newly made bbi4 armour and weapon class specific. On hard a set of bbi5 armour and weapon but only if all f…

Now I go back to Arisen's refuge to get my pawns back, and I go back to the sewers, and the creepy music that alerts you he's around the place is playing again...

DID I NOT JUST FUCKING KILL THE GUY.  Sure enough there he is, he respawned immediately after I went through hell to kill him.

    Pawn Hunting in The Rift

    April 11, 2014 by Spinfx

Searching for a pawns in the rift is rather a pain. The filters aren't terribly helpful - we have 3 tabs: one for specifying the class, one for gender, and one for a bunch of attributes that still doesn't quite do the job.

For one, Inclinations are actually a big deal - if you're shopping for a meat shield enemy magnet, it does no good to have Guardian on them. There should be filters for this imho.

Similarly, you can't search for pawns with a particular skill/augment. E.g. usually when I'm looking for a defensive tank I'd like it to have Prescience and Divine Defense. Or a support mage with High Halidom.

The level requirement is also too rigid. What are the odds of me finding a specific pawn I want at one single level? Why not allow us to pi…

    Loot plz kthx

    April 4, 2014 by Spinfx

Why do pawns hate picking up drops?

I often feel like I'm playing an MMO - grouped with a bunch of lazy snots, who make me pick up after them. Even though I actually enjoy a support role this is not what I signed up for, especially in a singleplayer RPG. Bad enough that Capcom actually felt we needed a specific Inclination for this (see: Acquisitor)- not to mention how crappy it is to have to sacrifice one of your only two pawn inclinations just to make them pick up the god damn loot.

I'm not saying I want pawns to auto-hoover loot like vacuum cleaners... wait, actually I do. If the player is standing around after a kill, long enough for the pawns to wander and walk over dropped items several times, then I dunno, maybe they should pick them up…

So, I've been playing DD since it first came out... I currently have fourteen gamertags for fourteen different pawns, only five of those are level 200.

I'm starting to get burnt out.

I was thinking about having a fresh start... starting by only having three pawns (most likely my first three.) I'd rather have three good pawns than fourteen mediocre ones. It's unfortunate, but also nobody is really renting many of my pawns... not even me. x_>

And just for something different (also because it's something I've kinda wanted to do for a while), I was thinking of creating some of the party members from Capcom's Dungeons & Dragons games. So...

Savan would become Crassus (the fighter.)

Ashe would become Moriah (the thief.)

    Atheray would become Syous (the…

Had my saved game on hard drive, xbox360 broke down bought new one so starting all over again. forgot how much fun the game is been on new vegas and skyrim fallout3 etc but good to come back to Gransys thought about the one or ps4 but in my humble opinion no good rpg yet. Downloaded content will have fun getting back to level200. My hope for dd2 is more npc interaction and a mute button for pawns lol.

    Overhauling Pawns

    March 20, 2014 by Spinfx

Like most of you, I've butted heads with the Pawn Inclination system and found it wanting. The problem with Capcom, or rather JRPGs in general, is their love for keeping things "hidden" and "mysterious", so as to allegedly keep players interested and on their toes, rather than expose everything, leaving the guts of the game hanging out for all to see, so to speak.

    Hi everybody,

Continuing once again our trend on 100% subjective and silly blog post...

What are your 5 favorite arm armors from a visual point of view ? Does it match what you find to be the best gears ?

And, if relevant, tell us if your Arisen is male or female (Mine is Female).

    I'll go first with :

    1.  The Lion's Spine
    2.  Trophy Bracers
    3.  Abyssinal Bracers
    4.  Gleaming Bangles
    5.  Burnished Bracers

I find the bonuses from Dark Arisen to be really powerfull, especially bonus to Magick and Stamina recovery.

Sadly it make most previous DD gears almost useless.
