Vocations, affecting a character's combat and support capability in battle. They take the form of attack techniques, moves to aid other characters, and magic spells. Also available alongside weapon skills are Core Skills and Augments, which enhance abilities and provide other useful upgrades - these are often specific to vocation, but in the case of Augments can be carried over to other classes. Skills are purchased with Discipline Points, and can be bought and managed at the Union Inn in Gran Soren. As a character gains experience, levels up and gains more proficiency in its vocation, it can gain access to even more skills. Once a skill is purchased it is unlocked in other vocations that have that skill, even if it is from a higher vocation level.
