Badge of Vows 83 is a Badge of Vows medal obtained during the From A Different Sky quest of the same number. The badge is the remnant of a former Riftstone, collecting it earns a reward of Rift Crystals.
In the original Dragon's Dogma, Badge of Vows 83 is obtained as part of the From A Different Sky - Part 9 DLC quest pack, in Dark Arisen, the quest is included in the base game.

Visual of Location
The badge is found atop a chest on the ground floor of Fournival Manor in the Noble Quarter of Gran Soren.
The quest to obtain the badge does not appear until Post-Game and is best obtained before the Main Story Quest, "A Warm Welcome", is completed.
Picking up this item completes the quest and grants a reward of 1 Rift Cluster and 1,000 experience. This item can be duplicated at The Black Cat for 18,750 Gold.
Walkthrough[]
In all cases this quest is most easily accomplished when first reaching Gran Soren after defeating the Dragon before advancing the quest, A Warm Welcome - once A Warm Welcome has been completed, it will be necessary to fend off hostile soldiers which is possible, albeit difficult, to accomplish.
Frigor[]
Use a Frigor ice block to obtain the badge
Any staff-bearing vocation can use a Frigor step cast near the shelf to reach the badge.
The Frigor/High Frigor ice platform will only form if there are no obstacles where the icy spike pops up from the ground. Hostile Guards, the Arisen or pawns standing too close to the bookcase (sometimes even the bookcase itself) can become obstacles to creating the Frigor step successfully.
Use manual targeting ([L3] button) to place the spire in front of the bookcase.
Barrel Stacking[]
Carry a barrel from the lower passage gate to the house, set it next to the bookshelf and grab the badge. The barrel might need to be repositioned for the collision to work for you to be able to jump on top of it. This method requires you to not have any pawns in your party or they will break your barrel.

- The quest will only appear on the Notice Board Post-Game
- The quest will be much easier before A Warm Welcome is completed. After that quest is completed, the Arisen will have a much tougher time acquiring this badge due to guard interference.
