The Iron Chain Mail Set consists of two main items - the Chain Mail upper and Full Chain Hosen lowers. Together they make a heavy and highly physically defensive set of undergarments, suitable primarily for warrior and fighter vocations, and to Heavy Armor Sets and Very Heavy Armor Sets.
Chain sets are best suited as undergarments for closely fitting armors, such as well shaped plate armors. They are the heaviest and most defensive of all iron made clothes; only the Iron Vest is comparable - the scale vests are not suitable for tightly fitting armors.
As a pair the weight drops from 4.12 to 3.09 when fully upgraded, with physical defense rising from 21 to 57. When upgraded the set has some ice resistance.
The chain set can be integrated with the Chain Coif for a full chain covering - other better headpieces include a chain neck, and work well with the chain set - these include the Iron Helm, Meloirean Helm, and Barreled Helm amongst others.
