Chimera Strategy Vol. 2 is an item available in Dragon's Dogma.

Overview[]

"An ancient pawn's book that reveals how chimera are vulnerable to silencing."

Teaches pawns to Silence a Chimera's goat head. May impart one Bestiary star for Chimeras and Gorechimeras if any pawn lacked such knowledge.

Walkthrough[]

Caution! There are numerous pitfalls in The Bluemoon Tower, mostly into the Brine, but some onto hard rocks.

The scroll is located in an extremely hard to reach place on the upper walls of The Bluemoon Tower.

Jumps[]

See also: Jumping

The chest can be reached by a number of methods including Levitate, Sky Rapture, Sunflare, Double Vault, in combination with Running jumps.

Jumping the other route[]

It's possible to avoid the dangerous first jump that can result in a fall if missed. Instead a jump to the section of the wall nearer the tower - this is high and can generally only be reached using a special unarmed [jump]-[heavy attack] combo exploit; or a Double Vault, Sunflare, Instant Reset combo. Either jump may be easier from a running start. The same place can be reached using a harpy.

From that section of the wall all that remains is a relatively easy jump across a straight section of broken wall (running double jump or better will easily clear it), and a vertigious but safe walk. The final jump is unchanged - the unarmed combo jump can help with that as well.

Harpy ride[]

If the Arisen lacks any of those skills then another viable option is to grab a Snow Harpy, steer it above the platform on which the chest is located, and drop down to that platform.

Alternative walkthrough[]

Similar to the jumping walkthrough - uses images instead of animations for visualization

In this walkthrough Levitate can be substituted for Sunflare.

Notes[]

  • Of the methods give all are fairly easy with the exception of that using only Double Vault.
    • The last jump can be quite difficult, but is trivial with Sky Rapture.
    • Sunflare can be further extended with Reset - allowing a second jump - this should not be necessary here.
    • It is thought that low encumbrance does not actually improve jump distance - however the faster move speed with low encumbrance before a jump may (or may not) help in practice with timing of difficult jumps.
  • If the option to use this item is greyed out, it means that all Pawns in the Arisen's party already know the information contained in the scroll.
