Emphasis is an augment available in Dragon's Dogma.
Description[]
- "Augments the power of magick attacks designed to knock foes down."
Grants an additional 30% to knockdown power when using spells that impart force as a component.
Notes[]
- Not all spells knockdown. Those that do include Frigor, Comestion, Ingle, and Maelstrom.
- Some spells like neutral Magick Bolt only Stagger, and cannot knockdown.
- Some Magick is not improved. This includes :
- Sorcerer's Magick Billow is not improved - it is probably considered a physical skill.
- Mystic Knight's Ruinous Sigil, and Abyssal Anguish
- Impact improves knockdown of both spells and physical attacks.
- The ability to knock down enemies and make them vulnerable is arguably more useful than increasing Magick with an Augment like Attunement (+10% Magick), if faced with an either/or choice.
- Doesn't seem to affect or improve staggering.
- Information on the augment's magnitude is sourced from the game's (PC version) data files. It is presumed identical in all other versions of Dark Arisen. Needs confirmation for vanilla edition.
