Soul Skewer is a skill available in Dragon's Dogma.
Description[]
- "An advanced form of Flesh Skewer. Pins the target with the blade for an extended time and pelts them with blows.."
An advanced version of Flesh Skewer; in Dark Arisen, becomes Fate Skewer with a suitable Fighter's Ring or Fighter's Band equipped.
Usage, tactics, damage[]
Skill | Hits | Max skewer duration |
---|---|---|
Flesh Skewer | 5 | ~2½s |
Soul Skewer | 14 | 7s |
Fate Skewer | 20 | 7s |
- Continuously press the skill button for the follow on hits.
- Attempting to use this on large enemies will produce only the stabbing animation without pinning the target nor unleashing the barrage of hits to the pinned target.
- A few of the larger creatures that can be skewered include Giant Saurians, Poisoned Undead and Skeleton Brutes.
Knockdown[]
- When the final hit connects knockdown is usually guaranteed.
- This makes it particularly useful against resilient foes such as Undead.
- This knockdown throws the enemy backwards. Thus, this skill can be a reliable way of throwing enemies off of high places.
- Additional targets may be knocked down if are close enough to be hit by the "release kick".
- Skill spam effectively allows one to pin an important target in place to allow the party to inflict damage.
Damage[]
- Only first and last hits are strong.
- The first strike is the same strength across all three tiers of skill.
- The final strike has slightly higher base attack for Fate skewer than the other two lower tier skills.
- The multiple stabs have modest strength - comparable in scaling to the multiple strikes of Sheltered Assault, Compass Slash, or Heavenward Lash. (see Skill Multiplier Data for details).
- Generally the 'Skewer' skills have lower rate of damage than Sheltered Assault and related skills.
Notes[]
- Pawns will complete the full number of strikes on a foe even if it is already obviously dead..
- Medium-sized enemies struck with this skill will end up partially in the floor for the duration of it. This is a purely visual error and has no consequences.
- Warning! Character using the skill is vulnerable to attacks from other enemies while doing so.
