Thunder Riposte is a lightning based skill available in Dragon's Dogma.
Description[]
- "An advanced form of Thundercounter that persists for a longer period of time and conjures more bolts of lightning upon a perfect block."
An advanced version of Thundercounter. With Dark Arisen, it becomes Boltstorm Feint with the relevant Magick Shieldsman's Ring or Magick Shieldsman's Band equipped.
After a relatively brief incantation, enchants the magick shield with the Lightning element.

- Once enchanted, blocks with the Magick Shield do a small amount of Lightning damage, which may thundershock attacking foes.
- Perfect Blocks (with the Core Skill of Reflect learnt) conjure Levin like spells which target the attacker.
- Spell power increases with tier : Icecounter is identical in power to Levin, Thunder Riposte to High Levin - except that the magick power is supplemented by the shield not a a staff.
- The foe can be hit at any range, including attackers with bows.
- Even Ballista are struck (and destroyed) if their bolts are perfectly blocked.
- To cast the higher tier spells the incantation must be held for the casting to fully complete otherwise only the lower tier spell will be made.
- ERROR!!! (?) When this skill triggers the debilitation Thundershock and a permanently enchanted shield or a spell weapon enchantment has been used the thundershock damage will take on the shield or spell element. (A similar effect is seen with Dark Critical Hits cause by Abyssal Riposte type spells) It is not known if this behaviour is intended.
- The spells make performing Perfect Blocks slightly easier. However the lowest tier works best, contrary to the pattern in all other shields counter spells - this may be an ERROR!!!
- (Glitch) In Dark Arisen transitioning between areas with this skill active will randomly add a debilitation. The next enemy hit will be debilitated on the first hit. For details see the notes in Mystic Knight Shield Counters.
