This quest is not to be confused with the main game quest Lost Faith. This is separate quest. Lost Faith (DLC) is a DLC quest available in Dragon's Dogma.

"A man of the Faith – or so he claimed – offered me a tidy sume to recover a certain letter, but the task is proving more difficult than I could have imagined. Now this "pious brother" is making grave threats against me and mine! If any might help me retrieve the missive, I would gladly share the reward."
Walkthrough
In order to acquire the Tightly Folded Letter you must accomplish the quest Nameless Terror, upon completion the quest will reward you the item. It then can then be used toward completing this quest.
Please note that you can forge the Tightly Folded Letter at The Black Cat for 1500 gold. This forgery is a perfect duplicate, indistinguishable from the original, which allows you to finish the quest whilst retaining a Tightly Folded Letter in your inventory.
