Sparyard of Scant Mercy is a location in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen.

Overview[]

Sparyard of Scant Mercy is a location in the labyrinth of Bitterblack Isle, accessed through The Bloodless Stockade and leads to The Fallen City.

When first entering this room, a sorrowful conversation can be overheard. A single Living Armor guards the door leading to The Fallen City. The Living Armor must be defeated in order to progress further.

There is a broken Riftstone, which can be restored for 25,000 RC.

Enemies[]

Initially there is a Living Armor here; after its defeat, either a Dire Drake, Dire Wyrm, Dire Wyvern or another Living Armor may appear when re-entering the area. Monster spawns can be changed by entering and exiting the Riftstone.

Post-Daimon, two Dragons may appear, either two Dire Drakes, two Dire Wyrms, or a Dire Drake and a Dire Wyrm.

An additional hazard is the possibility of the random appearance of a Cursed Dragon or Death.

Loot[]

Pyrepipe and Nightfall Cresset grow here. Ore deposits will likely yield either Diamond, Hunk of Platinum, Moonstone, Lava Rock, Unremarkable Ore, or Rock.

Useful items that can be gathered or found around or in containers include : Bitterblack Armor Lv.1, Jewel of Summoning, Monk's Periapt, Angel's Periapt, Wakestone, Rift Bicrystal, and Rift Clusters.

The Macabre Sculpture is hidden behind a column on the upper level, and a tablet containing "Recollections of Another Arisen" can be found near the exit to The Fallen City.

Notes[]

  • The Riftstone may be used in combination with the Magick Archer's Great Sacrifice skill to easily clear the room of foes.
  • If the Godsbane exploit is used here, Death or a Cursed Dragon may randomly spawn once the Arisen reloads the game.(verify)
  • After defeating the Living Armor for the first time, the single Dire Drake, Dire Wyrm or Dire Wyvern which spawn here will do so only until the player enters the Bitterblack Sanctum.
  • The arena layout gives a very easy option for defeating the initial Living Armor that shows up here for any strong ranged classes like a Ranger. If instead of going down the stairs you walk to the right along the top of the circular wall and jump across at least one gap to the next section of wall, you can freely fire at will at the Living Armor below and it will stay in its initial guard position, not moving or even engaging you in combat. You will still need a strong weapon and strong damage-per-hit skills to get past its defenses, such as Dire Arrow or Meteor Shot; in its initial position the weak spot to target is the Armor's head, just above its shield when it turns to face you after the first attack. When the armor is removed it becomes more resilient.
